A NEWBORN SESSION AT HOME
Baby's First Year Plan
4 Sessions | $950 ($800 album credit)
The most popular option for expectant parents wanting to document their baby's first year of milestones. Members receive 3-4 SIGNATURE SESSIONS within an 18-month period, savings on their session fees, 25 complimentary birth announcements + an album credit for those option to purchase artwork.
For each session, the complete digital gallery is $1,200, or clients who create an artwork collection of $2,500 or more receive their complete digital gallery as our gift.
Newborn Signature Session
The session fee includes your planning appointment, wardrobe and styling, professional hair and makeup for Mom, and your fully guided portrait session.
Afterward, you'll choose only what you love. The complete digital gallery is $1,200, or clients who create an artwork collection of $2,500 or more receive their complete digital gallery as our gift.
Every moment of our newborn session exceeded our expectations.
Our son was born 4 weeks early and I did not have a newborn photographer chosen. After his birth I quickly searched for photographers in the area and found Meghan. Thankfully, Meghan was able to accommodate us on such short notice!
We decided to do a collective membership which includes attire, hair and makeup for mom. Cedar Falls Newborn Photography FAQs
Most families reserve their newborn session after the first trimester so we can hold space around your due date. Once baby arrives, we'll choose the session date that works best for your family, typically 10-14 days after birth.
Already have your baby in your arms? Reach out. If we have availability, we'd still love to photograph this season for you.
We typically photograph newborns when they're 10–14 days old. By then, you're beginning to recover and settle in at home, and baby is starting to find a rhythm with feeding and sleep. We want you to feel good for these photographs, too.
But there isn't a hard deadline. We've photographed newborns as old as four weeks and created beautiful images.
If your baby is already here, don't worry that you've missed your chance. Reach out, and we'll find the best timing for your family.
Absolutely. In fact, they're an important part of every newborn session.
We'll create beautiful portraits of your newborn on their own, but we'll also photograph Mom with baby, Dad with baby, siblings together, parents together and your entire family.
Your baby's newborn photographs should tell the story of the family who loved them from the very beginning.
They don't need to.
Little kids aren't expected to sit perfectly, smile on command or suddenly become someone they're not. We'll give them time to warm up, keep things moving and work with their personalities.
Some of the sweetest sibling photographs happen when we stop asking little ones to “perform” and simply give them space to love on their new baby.
That's completely okay. Newborn sessions leave plenty of time for feeding, changing, soothing and snuggling.
We follow baby's cues rather than rushing through a predetermined list of poses. If your baby needs Mom, we pause. If they're wide awake, we'll photograph those beautiful open eyes. And if they need to eat, they eat.
Your baby doesn't need to behave a certain way for us to create beautiful photographs.
You don't have to figure that out on your own.
We'll help style your family before the session, and you'll have access to our studio wardrobe with beautiful, photograph-ready options for Mom and baby. Professional hair and makeup for Mom is also included in the Signature Session experience.
The goal is for everything to feel cohesive, timeless and like your family—without requiring you to shop for five new outfits while preparing for a baby.
Most newborn sessions take place in our Cedar Falls photography studio, where we have everything we need to create a comfortable, relaxed experience for your family.
We photograph families from Cedar Falls, Waterloo and throughout the Cedar Valley, as well as families who travel to us from Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities.
Yes. After your session, we'll meet again to view your photographs and choose the images you love most.
Digital images are available, as are custom albums and framed artwork. We'll help you decide what works best for your family and, if you choose artwork, design it for you so you're not left trying to figure out sizes, frames or album layouts on your own.
Newborn sessions begin with a $400 session fee, which includes session planning, wardrobe and styling, professional hair and makeup for Mom, and your fully guided newborn photography session.
