Being a mother is challenging enough.

Capturing your family’s best moments shouldn’t have to be too.

As far back as I can remember, photos have been a part of my family’s language.

My mom filled every hallway, bookshelf, and end table with collages of both candid and professional portraits. After 30 years, I find myself lingering in front of her walls, smiling and remembering those moments.
Eventually, our Facebook photos are scrolled through and forgotten. Instagram feeds seem to become irrelevant with each new post. Social media won’t last forever, but your memories can.

My desire is to help families preserve their stories in a meaningful way. Moments with your children are too precious to fade into the sea of likes, comments, feeds, and filters. No moment is too minuscule. My mission and joy is to help families preserve their legacy. Let’s capture your moments and create something that will inspire you, your children, and your future grandchildren for a lifetime.

You appreciate the beauty in the simple moments

Some of the most beautiful moments of motherhood are the most simple and I aim to capture those ordinary moments in a special way. Things like tickle fights or kissing little fingers that might not seem photo-worthy are often the best and most natural things I document. I capture these moments so they feel warm and familiar while looking sophisticated and timeless in your collection of photos.

You love candid moments

Some of the most beautiful photos are organic, unscripted snapshots, and glimpses into your actual life - the snuggles, the belly laughs, the Eskimo kisses. During your session, there will be laughter, storytelling, and the unique things that make you, you. We can also venture into some posed styles because those often frame well, but candid styles tend to be where your heart is.

You’re sentimental

Photos are a reflection of your story and who you are. As a sentimental person too, I want you to experience an emotional reaction reliving your photos. It is such an honor to capture the moments that bring you laughter, tears of joy, and the warmth of love again and again.

You want to celebrate your WHOLE family

You cherish the time spent with your entire family together and want to capture and preserve those special moments with portraits that reflect the beauty and joy of your whole family. You value the importance of family and want to create lasting memories with them as a celebration of the love you share.

You’re ready to put your trust in me

If this sounds like you and what you’re looking for, I believe we’d be a great fit. I promise to treat your session and your story with as much passion and care as my own. I’m thrilled to share this experience with you.

I never want to forget certain little details from Waylon's newborn session and these photos captured all those precious moments for us for a lifetime!

These photos... melt my heart each time I look at them! They make me SO Happy! The investment in these photos is worth it! They will carry on our Clevenger Legacy Forever. A HUGE shout out to the talented, Meghan Goering Photography for her amazing work! She turned my ideas into the most precious artwork I could ever imagine. I'm forever grateful that our paths crossed! I was in search of a photographer and made a friend in the end! She is so thoughtful, caring, and just a kind soul to work with. She made the whole session fun, easy going, and felt effortless with three children and two overly exhausted parents. That for me was worth it all!

Let me tell you my story

As a child, I was always a large kid and was uncomfortable in my own skin. Prompted by her own past experiences, my mother suggested I lose weight to be happier and her words echoed in my mind for years. Even though it was out of love, it ended up teaching me three powerful and destructive lies: that I’d never be happy, beautiful, or loved until I was skinny.

Despite the power of these lies, God helped me lose weight and find a man that loved me exactly the way I was and has continued to love me through all my changes. However, it wasn't until my own wedding day that I finally felt beautiful and believed it for the first time. My hair was perfect, my makeup was flawless, and an exquisite Anne Barge dress hugged my frame. For the first time in my life, I felt beautiful, and more importantly, I believed it. It was one of the most empowering moments of my life, and I will treasure it always.

This experience showed me the power of feeling beautiful, and I’ve drawn from it time and again as I’ve transitioned into the struggles of motherhood.

As you know it, motherhood has a way of changing you, literally. From the moment you start carrying your child, your body starts to look different as it prepares to create and preserve life. While the purpose of this change is beautiful, sometimes the results don’t make you feel that way.

But when you feel beautiful, it changes everything. It changes the way you smile, the way you hold yourself, the way you pose, and the way you interact with your children. It even changes the experience that our children have – when they see confident mothers, it helps them to be confident too.

As a mom, it can be intimidating to get in front of the camera. Sometimes we feel that unless we’re perfect, we shouldn’t be in a photo. This is especially true when your clothes don’t fit, you have stretch marks you never knew existed, you haven’t showered in days, and can’t even remember when you last brushed your teeth before 1pm.

Part of my mission as a photographer is to help mothers and families feel confident in front of the camera. This is one of the reasons I offer a client wardrobe, styling services, and makeup. You are beautiful, no matter what, and you have every reason to glow at your session and to feel confident in yourself. My goal is that you would step in front of my camera feeling that same feeling I did on my wedding day - believing and seeing yourself as gorgeous, and letting your smiles flow from a place of confidence and loving yourself.

Taylor utter

Hello! I’m Taylor! I have been a licensed hair and makeup artist since 2015, but my passion for all things beauty started far before then. I was always the friend begging to “doll-up” my besties for special occasions growing up. My passion for beauty runs very deep. I love doing very soft natural glam hair and makeup for the minimalist, beautiful show makeup for the hair and makeup lover, and everything in between! I aspire to hear my clients' vision and make it come to life! I always hope to give every person in my chair a relaxing, enjoyable experience.

Gabby Skiles

My name is Gabby Skiles, and from a very young age I had always known I wanted to be a stylist. I was always doing everyone’s homecoming/prom hair and makeup.
For the past three years I have been growing my business after graduating with my barber stylist license. I work part time traveling t to do hair and makeup for weddings with my best friend. I have always had such a strong passion for helping others, and becoming a stylist I have been able to do so. I not only help them look good but I try to help them feel the best version of themselves! I enjoy being able to listen but also challenge people to step out of their comfort zone. Sometimes changes are good and you just need someone to give you a few suggestions. The smiles of joy that I have received from people is the reason I continue what I do. I want to be able to serve you where you are at in your life and just be a friend.

Kris Dalton

I started framing in the early 90's in the backroom of a photography studio. It soon grew to doing more than just portraits for the photographer, which pushed me into cutting mats, learning proper hinging and mounting and the numerous other techniques used in framing. I out grew the back room and moved to a larger space to do the framing while leaving sales at the photography studio. From there I grew into a full store front on our business square. Here I was able to add gallery space as well as gift lines. I had a store front for almost 10 years when I decided to leave full time retail for sales.

I have enjoyed my job as a Sales Rep for Evald Moulding, traveling to see accounts in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan and Iowa for 18+ years. I still have a small space for framing and meet with customers by appointment on my evenings when I'm home and weekends. To me framing is very personal, each job is unique and I enjoy the challenge of making a piece look its best. I feel that framing art appropriately will make it work anywhere.

About the studio

Our photography studio is conveniently located on University Ave in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The studio is designed to make you feel at home so you are completely comfortable and relaxed for your session. In our wardrobe room, you'll find plenty of space to unpack all your belongings so you feel settled. If you need to change or feed your baby, we've got a changing table and boppy so you can take care of them comfortably. We also have refreshments and snacks for everyone.

In our main natural light shooting area, we use simple white walls as the backdrop to ensure the focus of your images is on your face - not the props or the background. Our floors are a beautiful lighter tone with both cool and warm colors. My primary focus is to utilize natural lighting but because we live in Iowa, sometimes rainy days require studio lighting. However, with my previous training, you can be confident that your studio-lit images will be just as beautiful as natural light images.

Our main shooting space has a separate comfortable seating area with a television. This space is where you'll see your images for the very first time during the reveal at your design and ordering appointment. We can also use the TV during a session if a toddler needs a break from all the smiles.

The portraits you capture now will hold those memories forever.
