Heirloom Portraits

The Heirloom Portrait
Experience

Preserving the Tender, everyday magic of childhood with timeless heirlooms — so you’ll always remember how special it felt.

Whether we like it or not, they’re growing up. Each day brings a new milestone… but with every new first, another chapter quietly closes. If you’ve ever found yourself holding your child a little longer, memorizing the way their hair curls at the ends or how their laughter fills the room—you’re not alone.

An heirloom portrait isn’t just about taking beautiful pictures. It’s about honoring the sacred, everyday moments that slip through our fingers. It’s about creating something tangible—a timeless heirloom that reflects the love, legacy, and tenderness of this fleeting season.

Meet Meghan—A Winston-Salem Native with a Heart for Heirlooms,

My mother had a deep reverence for childhood. Every milestone was honored with formal portraits, many of which were lovingly custom-framed and displayed throughout our home. Those walls didn’t just hold artwork—they told our story. They showed me, even as a little girl, that I was seen, celebrated, and deeply loved.

When I was five, my mother commissioned a local seamstress to create a custom dress for me, and a local artist to paint a full-length portrait of me sitting on a bench in the iconic Reynolda Gardens. That portrait still hangs in her home today, a beautiful reminder of a fleeting season—and a powerful symbol of what it means to preserve our children’s stories with intention.

Her passion for artwork and memory-making planted the seed for what I do now. In a world where images are often lost to a fleeting scroll, I believe in creating something tangible. Something lasting. I help families turn meaningful moments into timeless heirlooms—art that will be treasured for generations, displayed proudly on walls and coffee tables.

If you're ready to celebrate your children and the season you're in right now, this experience was made for you.

These images are amazing! I literally can’t stop looking at them!!!! I can’t even believe how many amazing shots you got! They are so perfect.

Meghan was absolutely amazing. She was so great with my kids and they warmed up to her right away. She had a stunning collection of outfits and coordinated my children perfectly. Her images are beautiful and I will have a difficult time choosing which images to display, as they are all so wonderful. She is very prompt and has great communication. I highly recommend and will definitely be working with her again!

THE ARTWORK

Matted Albums

We love designing and creating custom, luxury hand-bound albums for our clients. We know this isn’t just a book – it’s a valuable piece of your family’s history that your little ones will love thumbing through and one day your grandchildren will too.
With a little adult supervision, our books are designed and created to be enjoyed and read by even the tiniest fingers. What sets our books apart from others is the protective coating applied to each page. It’s ok if your son smears strawberry jelly on the pages because it can effortlessly be wiped away with a little Windex and your pages will be good as new.

Signature Custom Framing

Each frame is crafted by hand with beautiful mouldings chosen to complement your home’s existing decor, from fine art paper printed with archival inks, and UV resistant acrylic to protect your photograph. At your ordering appointment we will work together to design wall galleries for the spaces in your home where you want to be regularly reminded of these precious memories. Trios and quads are available upon request.

Painterly Portraits

Our Painterly Portraits offer the timeless beauty of a hand-painted piece—without the stress of sourcing an artist or managing the framing. Designed to mimic the elegance of a traditional commissioned painting, each portrait begins with a carefully selected image and is digitally rendered by a skilled artist using custom brushwork to create soft, expressive strokes.

From there, the portrait is printed on fine art giclée canvas, then enhanced by hand with painted, contoured brushstrokes that add depth and dimension. The result is a breathtaking, museum-quality piece that seamlessly blends the emotion of photography with the texture and artistry of a painted work.

We take care of the entire process—from artwork to custom framing—so you can enjoy a truly effortless, heirloom-worthy experience.

What should my child wear for an heirloom portrait session?

Choosing what your child will wear is one of those little joys that makes this whole experience feel extra special. There’s something about buttoning up a tiny collar or smoothing down a soft linen dress that tugs at your heart—you see them, just as they are, in this fleeting stage of life.
For this session, we’re leaning into that timeless, classic feel. Think heirloom dresses with hand embroidery, soft knits, smocked rompers, or vintage-inspired pieces that feel like they could’ve been passed down through generations. This is your chance to preserve them—not just how they look, but how they feel right now. Sweet. Innocent. Little.

No worries at all! Every child is unique, and I’ve seen it all—from giggles to wiggles to shy little ones. I’ll take things gently and follow your child's cues, making sure we capture sweet, authentic expressions no matter their mood that day.

Can siblings be photographed together?

If you have multiple children joining us, we’ll begin with the youngest—while their energy and curiosity are fresh! Once we’ve captured their sweet expressions, we’ll gently move on to the older sibling. Afterward, we’ll bring them together for some heartfelt sibling portraits—those genuine, connected moments you’ll want to remember forever.
