A Boho-Inspired Maternity Photography Session in Cedar Falls

When we planned this Cedar Falls maternity session, we weren't simply creating photographs of pregnancy. We were documenting the beginning of a story this family already knew they wanted to remember.
We created soft, boho-inspired maternity portraits alongside more glamorous images of Mom, giving her two distinctly different ways to remember herself during this season.
But what makes this session especially meaningful is everything that came after it. This family chose to return for newborn portraits, six-month milestones, a first birthday session, and again at 18 months—five sessions preserving how quickly their baby changed from the months before they met through the beginning of toddlerhood.
That's the beauty of documenting more than one milestone. The photographs don't exist alone. Together, they become a record of a family growing—a baby once held beneath Mom's heart becoming the newborn in her arms, then the six-month-old sitting up, the one-year-old celebrating a first birthday, and the toddler they could hardly have imagined when we created these maternity portraits.
You don't get these seasons back. But you can preserve enough of them to remember how they unfolded.
